The Compassionate Mind

The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert explores the importance of cultivating compassion in oneself and others. He states that humans have evolved to be highly self-critical and that this can lead to mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. By learning to be more self compassionate and developing a compassionate mindset, we can improve their mental health, relationships, and overall well-being.

Show Your Work!

Show Your Work  by Austin Kleon provides guidance on how to share your creative work. The book emphasizes the importance of being open, generous, and transparent when sharing creative work, as this can help to build connections with others. Kleon encourages readers to embrace the process of creativity and to share not only the finished product, but also the behind-the-scenes work that goes into it.

Sea of Tranquility

Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel is an odd book that starts with the character traveling by steam ship across the Atlantic to Canada in 1912 and ending up in Tofino of all places where they have a crazy out of body experience. The story then starts time traveling across hundreds of years revolving around a flu pandemic. It's a hard to explain book, but very interesting. I didn't even know that Tofino was a setting in the book before reading it.

The Compound Effect

The Compound Effect is a self-help book by Darren Hardy that focuses on the power of small actions over time to achieve significant results in your personal and professional life. The book emphasizes that success is not achieved through a single big action, but through the accumulation of small actions taken consistently over time. The author provides practical strategies for implementing this concept, such as setting clear goals, tracking progress, and developing good habits. I have found huge success in tracking the things In my life that I want to change such as diet and excersise. A small change per day is much easier than a huge change and will help you stay on track to accomplish your end goal.
